Things we have learned from Week 13……..
- Brian Hoyer has had his good moments with the Cleveland Browns, but it’s now time to let the dollar bills fly out of the hands of Johnny Manziel and into the hands of Josh Gordon. While Hoyer proved to be serviceable this year, the excitement that could be felt along the sidelines and onto the field when Johnny Football entered the game, is something you cannot explain. It was noticeable on TV, even with the sound muted!!!!
- The Oakland Raiders are a laughable commodity when it comes to the NFL. There is really not that much else to say. After this week’s embarrassing 52 – 0 defeat by the hands of St. Louis, the only thing left for the Raiders to do is package themselves up in their own black hole and wait around until the season is over. Spare us the unwatchable games…
- In one of the most exciting games of the year, Phillip Rivers dusted of some of the rust and led the Chargers, who were down by 10 with 6 minutes to play, to a thrilling victory of the Ravens. The fantasy story from this defeat is the Red Hot forgotten receivers Keenan Allen and Torrie Smith. These guys were drafted as high as the 3rd round in this years draft and started off the season as big time stiffs. They both have been red hot lately and look to be back in the good graces of Fantasy Owners once again.
CJ Anderson is a beast. In his 2 games as a starter he has 335 rushing yards, 6 receptions, 45 receiving yards and 2 TD’s. CJ became the first running back in nearly a decade to run for 150+ yards in successive weeks…..The NY Jets ran the ball 49 times for 277 yards and still lost….Mike Evans is starting to fade a bit over the last few weeks…..Kenny Stills showed he has no problem picking up the slack for Brandin Cooks…..Tom Coughlin will be coaching his last game with the Giants in week 17….Tony Romo drops to the ground faster than a trainee in the fire academy. Stop, Drop, and Roll Tony…..Jim Harbaugh will be coaching in another venue next year…..The Arizona offense under Drew Stanton is as explosive as a super soaker with no water….Rob Ryan and Sean Peyton need to have the next Celebrity Death match. Rob better be careful as he looks like he moves as fast as the street sweeper that cleans up Bourbon street after Mardi Gras….Ben Roethlisberger is showing no signs of slowing down. He is playing like the Drew Bledsoe who won many fantasy games for many owners….Don’t look now, but the Legion of Boom continues to take no prisoners….Green Bay looks like a true contender as they stopped the Brady train….Can they ride their momentum into the Super Bowl????
